Congrats to Shay for being our Laner of the Week! A city girl born and raised in Detroit, now living in Nashville, TN. She moved to Nashville for college and loved it so much, she never left! She’s an education major with a passion for teaching. “I love the littles. When I’m not working, I’m volunteering. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, when I have time. Working as a BA has opened many new doors for me. I get to do a variety of work, learn new skills and meet new amazing people. I really enjoy this BA lifestyle. What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
Mustard Lane has great communication. Everything from the job assignment to the event description is always detailed. Plus, the gigs are always fun!
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you up to?!
When I’m not on the Lane, I’m volunteering in the community and making someone’s day.
Favorite restaurant or food?
I love chicken! You can do so much with it: make it hot, sweet, add BBQ, have it baked, or fried…!
What is one of your goals for 2024?
My goal is to travel and explore as much as I can.
Name a place you’d love to travel to, and why?!
I like Florida. Every city has a beach. It’s such a relaxing place with fun at every turn!
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off from the Lane?
My favorite day is Sunday, AKA: rest day.
Any favorite media that you’ve consumed recently?
Currently I’ve been seeking production gigs. I like being behind the scenes. I’ve done some background acting work and it’s so much fun.
What’s your hidden talent?!
I have the “gift of gab.” I can make anyone laugh and connect with anyone.
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
I’d be a world traveler/motivational speaker.
What’s an essential part of your daily Laner routine?
Praying. It’s a must.
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
We choose our attitude and our day is what we make of it.
Salty or Sweet?
Sweet.
What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work for Mustard Lane should the chance ever arise?
I would love to work for Louis Vuitton, Adidas, Cover Girl and every other brand I like.
What inspires you most?
Those who are not afraid of being uncomfortable for the better. That’s the only way to grow.
