Our LANER OF THE WEEK is Elizabeth Ide!

Matthew Borchers

Our Laner of the Week was born in Florida, but has been living in Chattanooga, Tennessee for fifteen years. Elizabeth has always had a passion for the arts, and found a love for people growing up. The next natural steps after starting work in parties and events seemed to always lean towards the creative side. Besides Brand Ambassador work, you can also find Elizabeth bartending, modeling, and acting! In addition to all of that, she’s also an entrepreneur-owner-operator of her own local apparel brand, Steal Your Seal. Think there’s even more to know about Elizabeth? …read on to find out!

What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?

My favorite thing about working events is getting to interact with all of the people! To me, being a Brand Ambassador has always meant connecting with a variety of people on a deeper level. I enjoy being friendly with the crowd, and you can often find me fetching sun screen from my bag for someone with a burnt face, or giving help to someone who needs directions and is looking a little lost. During events, we are the face of the organization. I like to leave people on a positive note in the best way I can.

When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!

Besides working on my clothing brand and making my schedule, I love to go hiking and to play guitar. I also enjoy live music, and love to attend concerts and festivals. I also have wanderlust and love to travel!

Favorite restaurant or food?

Thai Food

What is one of your goals for 2024?

To find another new form of income and to build my life the way I want it to be!

What is your favorite place or travel experience? Any fun stories here?

I really love the west coast, but have only visited Washington, Colorado, and Utah. In Washington, I visited the Hoh Rain Forest, one of the only temperate rainforests on the planet! Filled with untamed mosses and hanging ferns, old-growth trees, and an abundance of wildlife, Hoh Rain Forest is a lush wonderland within the Washington wilds.

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off from the Lane?

My favorite way to spend a day off is to get outdoors and go hiking at one of the beautiful blue holes in Chattanooga!

Any art/media you’ve consumed recently that you really enjoyed?

Ty Segall, Jungle, Game of Thrones, On the Road, Notes from Underground

What’s your hidden talent?!

I sing and play guitar!

If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?

I’m honestly not sure what my dream job would be, but it would probably be something that has to do with music, modeling, or acting. I don’t like to limit myself too much, because I have taken on many roles throughout time. I have worked 200+ events from weddings, festivals, work parties, birthdays, baby showers, fundraisers, sports events, beauty events, fashion events; and I’ve had many different roles from Event Specialist and Coordinator, Lead in Sales, to Management, to Promotional Modeling, and Brand Ambassador work. I definitely hope to grow my personal business and expand into different realms of money-making, such as production, marketing etc.

What’s an essential part of your daily Laner routine?

Coffee!

What life lesson did you learn the hard way?

If you believe in yourself, you can do things you never thought you could.

Sweet!

What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work for the Lane should the chance ever arise?

Free People.

What inspires you most?

I love getting to learn about other peoples crafts and business. It inspires me and helps me to think of other ways I could do something like that.
