Yung, our Laner of the Week, grew up in Silicon Valley but has also lived in New York City and Chicago. He used to run a tech start up but has since transitioned to being an actor and model that also does brand ambassador work! We love our multi-hyphenates! Read on to learn more about Yung!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
Mustard Lane has great brands and is honestly one of the most organized, professional companies in the event space. The quality of people on the roster is amazingly high.
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
Acting, modeling, traveling, playing volleyball and spending time with my wife, Sherin, and our two cats: Scooter and Pip.
Favorite restaurant or food?
Japanese and Vietnamese food are my two favorites, as they’re both healthy and tasty.
What is one of your goals for 2025?
Spend more time with people I love.
What’s your favorite place or travel experience? Any fun stories here?
Every year since the Pandemic, I try to spend a month living in a new city. So far I’ve lived in Vancouver, Chicago, and Toronto – all amazing cities. When my wife retires, we’ll buy an RV and take our cats on a tour of all the national parks, starting with Yosemite.
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off from the Lane?
Taking my cats on hikes and making a nice healthy meal.
Watching any good shows/media these days?
I’m watching Severance right now on Apple TV+ and if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. Outside of that…my favorite TV show is Breaking Bad and…favorite movie remains the original Matrix.
What’s your hidden talent?!
I used to be a breakdancer when I was younger. I can still do it a little, but at my age I might be more apt to break a bone doing it.
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
I’ve had many “dream” jobs in my life, including: tech, finance, modeling, and acting. All are great (and sometimes challenging) in their own way, so I can’t really pick one.
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Drinking coffee is one of the amazing joys of life IMO.
Go-to late-nite snack…GO!
The true answer is…any and all potato chips. I’m trying to substitute apples but I’m sure you can guess how that’s going. 😉
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
Always live below your means. Things aren’t important compared to the people you love!
It looks like Spring may be here to stay…what’s something you’ll miss from the Winter months?
Wearing sweaters, which we don’t get to do in California that much (I know we’re weather privileged lol)
What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work for on the Lane, should the chance ever arise?
I’ve been so blessed to represent awesome brands such as Apple, Meta, Google, Dior, Toyota and more that I can’t really think of. But if this question were a person, I would say…working with Keanu Reeves. I spent two days on set with him on the Matrix Resurrections and even though we didn’t talk I could see he was an amazingly humble person despite all of his fame and wealth.
How do you stay inspired?
My cats and my wife inspire me. I’m lucky to have them in my life!
