Our Laner of the Week, Robert, is a Caribbean boy all the way. From growing up going to the beaches of Miami, to living with his Boricua Tia, to spending Thanksgivings with his Belizean side of the family, Robert loves his Afro-Latino heritage! He’s been a trusty Laner for many years, but he just moved back to NYC after getting his Master of Fine Arts in Acting at UC Irvine! Let’s see what else Robert has to say…
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
I LOVE connecting with strangers and learning about their individual lives and experiences with the brands I help represent.
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
My people are my rocks. When I am not hanging with them, I’m exploring cities – walking, looking for parks, grabbing a dirty chai, reading about mindfulness and neuroscience at a library, or going to events myself!
Favorite restaurant or food?
Thai. Sawasdee khrap!
What is one of your goals for 2025?
Continue to explore what this NYC 2.0 creative journey has to offer me and make some new close friends along the way!
Do you have any favorite travel experiences?
Traveling the world on Celebrity Cruise Lines in my 20s. Hiking Mt. Vesuvius in Pompei was terrifying! What if it exploded again!?
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Adventuring with friends.
Any recent concert-going experiences?
The Brother’s Size at the Shed. Bravo.
What’s your hidden talent?!
A back bend to the floor as I windmill my arms; AKA: “The Rob.”
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
Series regular on anything!
What’s an essential part of your daily Laner routine?
Meditation, gratitude, and water.
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
You always have a choice. Your mindset can be your biggest block.
It’s FALL! Looking forward to anything this season?
Scarves, Pretty Leaves, and Cuddling!
Trick or Treat…chocolate or candy?
CHOCOLATE.
What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work for the Lane should the chance ever arise?
Masterclass, because it’s awesome.
What inspires you most?
Reading and learning!
Any advice for someone wanting to get started as a Laner?
Be present and treat everyone as your own friends and family at your party.
