Our Laner of the Week, Nelson, was born and raised in North Jersey with Colombian parents from Barranquilla. He’s now in LA! Nelson loves dancing and having a good time. He’s an actor and he just wrapped up a feature film called Bound for Glory. He even had a scene with Chris Katan! Sounds like we need more info about Mr. Nelson…!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
I love that I get paid to show people a good time and make sure people’s experience with me is positively memorable.
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
It feels like I am just always doing chores, laundry and folding my clothes on my time off. But once that’s done, I love to be active in mother nature. And if I have some gas left in the tank , go dancing.
Favorite restaurant or food?
My mom’s Colombian dish called Mondongo! ..which is basically a tripe stew. I love to eat that with rice and plantains.
Any dish or dessert that you love this time of year?
Peto. It’s a Colombian dish. It’s like hot rice pudding but with bigger balls.
2025 is coming to a close…any final goals?
I need to add a travel stamp in my passport somehow.
Name a favorite travel experience.
Traveling to Cartagena, Colombia with my whole family. It monsooned the whole time!
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off from the Lane?
Doing absolutely nothing. “Rot day.” ..but those are very rare. I never truly get a day off unless it’s vacation at some tropical place.
Favorite concert-going experience…go!
Electric Forest. 2023. With my sister. It was so amazing being there!
What’s your hidden talent?!
I smile in default mode.
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
Not have to have a job. Get paid to dream.
What’s an essential part of your daily Laner routine?
Drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning.
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
Never rush.
What is your favorite family/friend Holiday tradition?
Eating. …and…eating.
What’s on your wishlist this season?
I just want everyone to be healthy.
Is there a brand or event that you would love to represent or work as a Laner, should the chance ever arise?
I love working Music festivals and would love to work EDC or Lost Lands. Representing a fashion brand!
What inspires you most?
Being one with All.
Any advice for someone wanting to join the Lane and get started with event work?
Be your authentic self. Have a positive attitude and, “yes and…”
