Our Laner of the Week is Lupe Garcia! Let’s hear straight from the source: “My name is Lupe, and I’m a proud Latina who grew up in the Bay Area. I am a Cal State Northridge graduate with a Degree in Marketing; this is where my passion for building unforgettable brand experiences started. I specialize in experiential events, where I love the challenge of turning a brand’s vision into a meaningful, live connection for attendees. Most recently, I had the incredible opportunity to work behind the scenes at Coachella, a project that gave me a whole new appreciation for the logistics and energy required to pull off a world-class music festival. Outside of work, I am fueled by my community. You can usually find me sitting by a campfire sharing stories with family and friends, or hunting for my next favorite noodle dish. I don’t have any pets at the moment, but looking forward to one day adopting a dog. Looking ahead, I am eager to travel more for upcoming projects and expand my portfolio by collaborating with new brands to create even more high-impact, immersive events.” Quite the intro! But we still had some questions of our own…
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
I like working with Mustard Lane because they are always looking out for their team. I’m all for working with agencies that treat people with respect and kindness.
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
In my free time, you can find me catching up with friends. Traveling and working most weekends can make it hard to connect with friends. But whenever I can, I make sure to fill in my schedule with quality time.
Favorite restaurant or food?
I love anything with noodles. Ramen is currently my new obsession.
What is one of your goals for the second half of 2026?
In 2026 I’m looking forward to collaborating with new brands long-term. Usually with most pop-up or other projects it’s a one-time deal. I’m looking for a bit more consistency and stability.
Any travel spots you love?!
I love traveling to any locations that have any body of water. One of my favorite local spots is Lake Tahoe; it has it all. I can swim, go on a hike, lay in the sand..
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off from the Lane?
During my day off, I like to spend it by myself. In this line of work, we have to be full of energy, engaging with everyone at all times. I need time to recharge, and the way I do that is by spending it by myself on a hike, shopping, or watching a good movie.
Go-to music?
Anything Kendrick Lamar; always puts me in a great mood!
What’s your hidden talent?!
I don’t have any hidden talents, but I speak Spanish so I count that as a talent!
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
My dream job would be working for a beauty brand to test all the new products!
What’s an essential part of your daily Laner routine?
Coffee; I need to get an espresso machine because I spend too much money buying coffee.
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
Having Discipline can take you far in life. Having a routine can save you time in the long term, and can help with creating positive habits that can help in any area of your life.
Spring (Summer?) is here..how do you feel about Rain?
I love the Rain! I love being inside my house all bundled up, with a warm cup of tea watching a good movie! We need the rain so always happy to have a rainy day in.
What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work as a Laner should the chance ever arise?
Any make up or beauty brands
What keeps you inspired?
I stay inspired by surrounding myself with positive people and surrounding myself with a supportive community.
Any advice for someone wanting to join the Lane and start freelance event work?
Make sure to be organized and have the drive to be on the look out and apply for the next opportunity.
