Our Laner of the Week, Kevin, grew up in Iowa, but after being booked for his first national tour in 2014, he committed to traveling the country! Kevin spends most of the year working festivals, concerts, trade shows, and any consumer events he can get booked for. He’s got a love for travel, so working in the events industry has given him the opportunity to see every state and hundreds of cities! (…as well as fueling his passion to travel and blog around the world.) Kevin just wrapped up the NCAA Final Four and is excited to manage the Boston stadium for FIFA coming up in June. But that’s just our intro! There’s more to learn about this seasoned BA!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
I’ve worked in events for over 15 years and still love engaging consumers around the country, connecting them with brands and products they love and enjoy.
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
I love adventure and exploring the world, traveling around Asia, blogging about food and hotels while capturing amazing photos.
Favorite restaurant or food?
Love trying a slice of pizza from a new place around the world on my travels
Name a place you love traveling to, and why!
Vietnam is where my heart is. I’ve traveled there many times since 2018, and I miss the people, food, and culture, as well as the beautiful beaches.
Anything you’re looking forward to in 2026?
Returning to Vietnam!
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off from the Lane?
Enjoying nature and relaxing, as many events are long and filled with busy days
Favorite song?!
“Born this Way” – because it’s a reminder that we all are part of a community.
What’s your non-Laner, hidden talent?!
I know basic computer programming.
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
Working for a travel magazine like Travel and Leisure or Conde Nast.
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Working out.
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
That not everyone is going to like you.
Spring is upon us…thoughts on rain? Dance in it or seek cover?
Dance like no one’s watching! Rain & storms are a vibe.
What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work as a Laner, should the chance ever arise?
Electric Forrest.
How do you stay inspired?
My friends’ support.
Any advice for someone wanting to enter the world of freelance events/gigs?
The job not only involves interacting with people – there’s a level of endurance and mentality that’s required to work long days and stay upbeat and friendly throughout the day.
