Our Laner of the Week, Kate, is an actor and playwright originally from Atlanta! Shameless plug time: She actually has a new play called, The Little Lasses of Appleton, Wisconsin, which had its first public reading at Playwrights Horizons in February. You can follow @littlelassesofappleton to keep up! But for now…more about Kate!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
I get to work with such awesome people!!
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
Writing, acting, hanging out with friends, exploring fun places in the city, baking, and going for lots of walks!
Favorite restaurant or food?
Cheese ravioli, garlic bread, and cake.
Name a fave place you’ve traveled to:
London!
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Go somewhere fun with my friends!

Jessie Buckley always.
What’s your hidden talent?!
I’m very good at finding four leaf clovers.
If you could have your dream job other than Laner of the Week, what would it be?
Probably what I’m doing now, but at a higher level.
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Must have a delicious breakfast — usually something sweet!
As spring slowly creeps in, anything you’ll miss about winter?
The treats – hot chocolate and cookies! But also, I had this corn bisque soup at a restaurant like six months ago, and I still can’t stop thinking about it.
What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work as a Laner, should the chance ever arise?
hmm…maybe the Tony Awards!
How do you stay inspired?
Friends, art, and staying consistent.
Any advice for someone wanting to get started as a freelance gig worker?
Keep going. Take risks! Follow your own path. Value your community. Don’t be lazy.
