This Laner of the Week isn’t traditionally “from” anywhere..! Jordan’s lived in over eight states but she currently resides in Chicago. She hasn’t gotten bored of it yet! Jordan is a dance teacher and choreographer who dabbles in graphic design/social media management. Some of her favorite professional performance credits include Cabaret, Graziella/Dance Captain in West Side Story, Ensemble/Dance Captain in White Christmas, Kristine in A Chorus Line, as well as Norwegian Cruise Lines and Visceral Dance Chicago WITHIN. Currently, she’s on faculty at Stephanie’s Academy of Dance as a rehearsal director and a ballet/musical theater/pointe teacher. But, we don’t want to give it all away…read on!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
Working events is amazing because I’m literally getting paid to be at the party most people are PAYING to go to. I get to see it through from set-up to breakdown and meet people from all walks of life!
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
Dancing, Aerial Silks, Yoga, Rollerskating & seeing all kinds of shows… recently I’ve really enjoyed exploring the stand-up scene here in Chicago.
Favorite restaurant or food?
Well, I’m a relaxed vegan so I’d have to say I’m really digging the vegan sushi at Blue Fin right now.
What is one of your goals for 2023?
My goal is to read more, take an acting class and be a better listener!
Name a place you’d love to travel to. And why?!
Anywhere in Asia – it’s the only continent I haven’t been to!
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off from the Lane?
SLEEPING, ballet/yoga & going to a nice dinner or show with friends.
Do you prefer podcasts or books? Favorite one?
Love both, but currently have more time for podcasts! My favorite is Armchair Expert.
What’s your hidden talent?!
Gift giving! I CAN find that perfect present for your dad! Try me!
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
I honestly am fortunate to do what I love so most days I already feel like I’m living the dream. 🙂
What’s an essential part of your daily Laner routine?
Foam rolling and stretching before bed. I never miss it, swear by it and even travel with a foam roller.
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
People do what they want to do, but you get to choose how you let their actions affect you.
What is your favorite family/friend tradition?
I am blessed to have a lot of good ones but one I think is the most encompassing is: for holiday meals, my family doesn’t do a traditional meal…everyone orders/makes one thing they like – could be any cuisine – and we enjoy each other’s favorites!
What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work for Mustard Lane should the chance ever arise?
I would love to work the Sweets Conference that comes here every year. I hear it’s so fun and I always miss it!
What inspires you most?
Authenticity and human connection. Nothing is more beautiful than someone sharing their truth.
