This Laner of the Week, Huy resides in Greenville, SC! While Greenville has been home for 25+ years, he was actually born in Missouri. He loves playing and watching basketball, soccer, football and tennis. He’s also a 5th degree black belt in Kuk Sool Won! As if that wasn’t enough, Huy has a one-year-old daughter..Dad Mode activated!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
I really appreciate that I am getting recognized for my hard work from ML, and also the fun and diverse events I’ve gotten to work! I like doing different things and meeting different people.
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
Nowadays it’s mostly taking care of my baby girl and trying to be the best dad I can be.
Favorite restaurant or food?
Bun Bo Hue is my favorite Vietnamese food…and steak is my favorite American food. But I am a major foodie so I love lots of different foods!
Now that you’re Laner of the Week…what is one of your other goals for 2023?
To learn and grow as a dad, man and human.
Name a place you’d love to travel to. And why?!
Japan. I really want to see what it’s like over there and to eat as much authentic Japanese food as possible. And also to visit Mario World over there.
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Relaxing by some kind of water like the pool, lake or beach.
Do you prefer podcasts or books? Favorite one?
I like both! I don’t necessarily have a favorite of either.
What’s your hidden talent?!
I can do a pretty good country accent!
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
To travel the world eating all the food from that culture or region.
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Working out.
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
Not everyone wants you to succeed, family and friends included.
What is your favorite family/friend tradition?
Friendsgiving!
What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work should the chance ever arise?
CES, South by Southwest, or The Masters in Augusta.
What inspires you most?
Succeeding when people want or expect me to fail.
