Meet Mia!! Our creative and artistic Laner of the Week!! Mia was born and raised in Austin, Texas. This southern belle works as hard as an ad writer. Off the Lane you can find her making handwritten cards, sewing crop tops out of thrifted shirts, and trying to convince herself that cereal is actually healthy! Isn’t it?!? After spending about a year in NYC she is back home in Austin and ready to chase her creative dreams, which is a long list! She’s a dancer, actress, writer, artist, AND she plays four instruments! We are thrilled she has the time and energy to be using those creative juices on the Lane!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
Hey there, I’m Mia! I’m an ad writer who somehow still can’t write a good bio. You can usually find me making handwritten cards, sewing crop tops out of thrifted shirts, and trying to convince myself that cereal is actually healthy.
What is a quote that really resonates with you?
“What is for you will not pass you.”
How do you define success?
I think that, at the very core of it, success is the accomplishment of goals. You can get all intellectual about the nuances there, but I think the concept of “success” ultimately exists in relation to goals.
Whats the last thing you watched on Netflix?
Truth be told, I don’t watch anything but Big Brother on CBS. If you really wanna know what I last snuck onto my brother’s Netflix account to watch, it was some of ‘My Unorthodox Life’ that I watched while packing for a trip to NYC. It fit the theme!
Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
I’ve rafted down the Kok River in Thailand!
What pets did you have growing up?
I’ve had eight cats and probably like seven different hermit crabs. And a bunch of other random animals that may or may not have counted as pets?
What is a movie title that best describes you?
Home Alone.
What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?
I can play violin with the bow between my knees and my violin vertically sawing across it. It’s totally wrong, but I can make it sound pretty good. (I can also play the violin normally, but nobody wants to hear about that.)
What is something you will NEVER do again?
Get kicked out of London.
Which celebrity do you get mistaken for? Or are you a mashup of celebrities? Which ones?
Haha. If there’s a celebrity who looks like me, I have yet to find them. Asian-American representation is lacking, but I’m here to change that!
Whats a brand or event that you would love to represent/work should the chance ever arise?
Vega!! I’m a self-proclaimed plant-based protein connoisseur, even though I’m not even vegan. Vega is the clear frontrunner. I’m basically already a Vega brand ambassador in my everyday life.
