Matt McAbee is a California native and a SF based Laner. While growing up, he was involved in the drama program at school and was frequently shooting short films with his friends. Upon graduating High School, Matt moved to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for acting. He has studied acting at the
American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and at several studios in Los Angeles.
Outside of the Lane, Matt is an actor and model. He has been a member of SAG-AFTRA and acting professionally since he was 18 years old. Matt is very passionate about all things art and entertainment related! Besides the arts, he's also very passionate about health and fitness. On the weekly you can catch Matt working out, hiking, doing yoga, running, playing basketball, and staying active! In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors and at the beach. Matt's also a dog lover and ready to get a pooch of his own this year!
What was your favorite ML gig?
My favorite ML gig was working as the
Moose Munch mascot for the Winter Fancy Food Show. I got to put my actor skills to use and interact with so many different types of people! It was fun seeing people’s reactions and making them happy :)
What do you love about the Lane?
I love that every gig is different! I also love getting the chance to meet and work with different people. The Lane keeps work fun and exciting which at times, doesn’t feel like work!
Who do you look up to the most and why?
My mom and my brother. No matter what hardships we have came across as a family, they continue to persevere and rise above. I greatly admire that!

What famous person would you want to meet?
It would be so fun to meet Will Ferrell! I have admired him since I was a kid and my parents would let me stay up late to watch him on SNL. Comedic genius!
What is your spirit animal and why?
Lion because they embody strength and staying strong no matter what life throws at you is important to me!
If a movie was made about your life, what actor would play you?
Mr. Brad Pitt would be awesome!
Favorite restaurant/ best item on the menu?
I’m a taco afficando. Mexican food is my jam!
Favorite movie/ why?
Good Will Hunting. Amazing acting/writing/directing. Great movie about life and the scenes between Matt Damon and Robin Williams are incredible!
What character have you always wanted to play?
Kurt Cobain. If a biopic is ever made about him.

What is the most bizarre job you've done?
I was a mover, but it was for high end clientele and we had to submit headshots in order to be hired...when I showed up to work, everyone was a model and we were poorly wrapping very expensive paintings. Only in LA.
Most embarrassing moment
Ohhh man so embarrassing I can’t even mention it. Hint: Don’t go to a museum in Miami when you have food poisoning.
What flavor ice cream would you be and why?
Neopalitan because I’m well rounded and have a little something for everyone.
