Meet Joey! Our dog loving Laner of the Week! Originally from Brewster, NY, this Laner loves teaching and making musical theatre. He also loves being a dad to his 6 year old rescue dog, Rocky! Joey stays busy as an adjunct professor at Wanger College as well as the assistant director/instructor of theatre at Harvard University’s first year arts program. He also works as a freelance director, musician, actor and as a speech and monologue coach. Joey holds a BA from Wagner College in Theatre and Speech, certificate of excellence in acting from The Moscow Art Theatre School and has a Masters of Liberal Arts from Harvard University. He’s one SMART and passionate Laner and we love having him on the Lane!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
Meeting new people is the best part about working with Mustard Lane.
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
I work as an Adjunct Professor. I teach acting, public speaking, and a bunch of other special topic theatre courses. I am also a freelance director and actor. Currently working on preproduction for a show i’m directing in the spring. Very excited!
Favorite restaurant or food?
Pizza and bagels. Carbs in general.
What is one of your goals for 2022?

Name a place you’d love to travel to. And why?!
I’d love to go to the Galapagos islands to see all the animals!
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Taking my dog on a long walk along the Hudson or exploring some part of the city.
Do you prefer podcasts or books? Favorite one?
I just finished reading The Untethered Soul. Any kind of self improvement book.
What’s your hidden talent?!
I can name all 50 states in alphabetical order in 20 seconds.
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
Artistic Director of a theatre.
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Walking my dog.
What is your favorite family or friend tradition?
Sharing stupid memes with friends. It’s the best way to keep smiling in these strange times we are living in.
What inspires you most?
Any success story of someone who came from little or nothing and somehow beat the system.
