Who’s “Off the Lane?”
Off the Lane is an organization founded by artists with a passion-driven interest to develop programs that empower artists and creatives. Their community ranges from college students and early career artists to seasoned professionals looking to give back through mentorship, interactive panels and master classes. The goal of Off the Lane is to create an inclusive and accessible support system that continues to invest in new initiatives to meet the ongoing needs of the creative community.
Off the Lane gets its hands into lots of projects! Off The Lane’s Outreach Programs are specifically geared towards giving back to the arts community in a variety of ways. The entire team at OTL knows first hand how versatile training, education and networking can play directly into the success of one’s career.
There’s “ColLab,” an Experimental Performance Workshop series, the young professionals “Mentorship Program,” and…”BOOST!” BOOST provides resources and career guidance to early-career artists in NYC. And BOOST is hosting this upcoming free workshop!
So…what’s this free workshop?
Oh right! We’re holding a Creative Versatility Workshop focused on the Multi-Hyphenate lifestyle. The event is hosted by Off the Lane’s BOOST co-chairs: Jillian and Ayana. Both have many different paths of creativity within their artistic careers, and they’ll be talking about how to succeed as a versatile and multi-hyphenate artist in today’s arts & entertainment industry (AKA how to keep yourself working as an artist!). Discussion Topics include: building an artistic ecosystem, broadening your artistic focus, taking on projects that complement each other and your various skills, and creating a world for yourself that doesn’t require someone else giving you permission to do it! This workshop is FREE and open to anyone who is interested in taking control of their career! Laners, Off The Laners, and everyone else is welcome! Hot tip: there will be snacks!
