Mustard Lane really stretched its wings this summer. We were busier than ever, not only in New York and L.A., but in Oklahoma City, New Orleans, and many other cities across the United States. We were thrilled to add new brand ambassadors to our roster, including #LOTWs Bryan Blasingame (NOLA), Wende Leverton (Chicago), and Julianne Roth (Austin). With so many awesome events, we couldn’t pick our favorites! So we asked some of our brand ambassadors to select their favorite events from the summer of 2015. Here are some of their responses:
This summer Starbucks teamed with cab company Lyft to provide loyalty points toboth drivers and riders who use the ride-sharing app. To celebrate, they hired Mustard Lane to deliver free Starbucks coffee to hard-working New Yorkers throughout the City. Many of our brand ambassadors claimed this was their favorite event.
“My fave gig of the summer was definitely when Starbucks and Lyft teamed up to deliver iced coffee all over the City,” says #Laner Jillian Schiralli. “It was a great day hanging out with Robert, my awesome Lyft driver, delivering Starbucks and making the citizens of NYC super happy. We drove around the City in style in Robert’s Escalade, listening to the Donna Summer pandora radio station. Coffee AND Donna Summer? How could you possibly go wrong?!” You’re absolutely right, Jillian.
“My favorite gig of the summer was the Lyft/Starbucks activation,” says brand ambassador Kelly Klein. “It was great making people’s day with free iced coffee! They were all so happy and it was fun getting to drive all around the city with my Lyft driver.”
And, lastly, Isabel Ramirez agrees. “My favorite gig was driving around in a Lyft car with a driver and bringing free cold Starbucks four-packs to people. Most of them were office workers and probably were having hard stressful days. Something so simple like free Starbucks to make their days a little easier was SOOO worth it. I felt like Santa and, not to mention, I felt a little like a celebrity being driven around all day with a Lyft driver!”
Flavorpill, one of our favorite companies, teamed with Perrier Sparkling Natural Mineral Water to create dance party lunch breaks in office buildings all over America. In Miami, Chicago, New York and L.A., Laners brought the party to the tunes of DJ Questlove (yep, him, the guy from The Roots) and DJs Nadastrom and SoSuperSam, among others. Our brand ambassadors couldn’t believe their luck.
#Laner Annette Navarro says, “I loved #PerrierLunchBreak cause DJ Questlove was killin’ it, and everyone was dancing and having a good time. Couldn’t keep my feet from groovin’ while handing out those lunches!”
Finally, a lot of our brand ambassadors loved working the Harlequin Romance Party at that most romantic of hotels, the Waldorf Astoria. When the Romance Writers of America decided to hold their convention in New York City, writers descended upon us for a week in July. They hired Mustard Lane to work the Black & White Ball at the Waldorf Astoria, one of the most coveted invitations of the conference.
“I loved working the Harlequin Book Release Party at the Waldorf Astoria,” gushes brand ambassador Jen Donohoo. “I got to dress up with some of my favorite #Laners and check in amazing romance novelists from around the world. They all looked stunning and were the nicest ladies to chat with. It was so fun to put faces with names of novelists I’ve read for years!”
This summer Sprite created a bodega that sold only Sprite! Stephen Ellis cited this as one of his favorite events. “I really enjoyed the Sprite Corner activation! Bigger than the overall experience of being around established creatives was the invaluable insight you got,” he says. He found it very inspiring. “I heard firsthand about the ground work and foundation everyone had to lay before the success,” he explains. “One thing remained consistent with each story: they all knew what they wanted to do and become, and nothing would change that course.
