Meet Alan!! Our photography loving Laner of the Week! Born and raised in New York, this Laner has a passion for photography and the NY Mets! Off the Lane, you can find him exploring his city and discovering new experiences. He loves good Dim Sum and is always up for travel! We love having this talented and adventurous Laner on our team!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
Mustard Lane has been great experience in all facets. From the management team, to the events they have set up, to the brand ambassadors they have as part of the organization – everything has been fantastic.
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
I’m usually working on my photography craft, spending time with family, going to New York Mets baseball games, and/or on an airplane traveling to places.
Favorite restaurant or food?
Oof. Too many choices with this. I’m a sucker for Dim Sum, soup dumplings, empanadas, pizza – you name it! Put it in front of my face, and I’ll give it a bite haha!
What is one of your goals for 2023?
To be more present in the world. I’ll admit I get glued onto my smartphone for long periods of times for non-work-related reasons. Sometimes you gotta chuck it across the room and be present with others. (Don’t do it forcefully! Those devices are pricey!)
Name a place you’d love to travel to. And why?!
Japan. I’m all about understanding other cultures and lifestyles. I’m enamored by how you can do something at all hours of the day in that country. Plus, their food scene looks insane. My taste buds must experience it!
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Stretching/exercising and sharpening up the cooking skills. Your health is your wealth.
Do you prefer podcasts or books? Favorite one?
I’m 50/50 on this one. I prefer both. Favorite book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Favorite podcast at the moment is called New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.
What’s your hidden talent?!
I’m a sneaky decent dancer. It’s gotten me into some fun times and some trouble haha!
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
An in-house sports/content photographer with the New York Mets. Working in that field for the baseball team I root for would probably be an amazing experience.
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Stretching, a proper breakfast to start the day, drinking lots of water to be properly hydrated, and plugging in my portable battery pack prior to going to sleep – to make sure I have a backup source of power for the smartphone.
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
You can have all the talent in the world, but that doesn’t mean you don’t work hard. You have to do that, too.
What inspires you most?
To always be better than the previous day. Each day is a new day to gain new experience in the world, and I welcome that with open arms.
