Our Laner of the Week is Caroline! Born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois, she graduated with a Bachelor of Music Arts in Lyric Theatre at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She’s performed in musicals and operas with the Legacy Theater and Prairie Fire Theater. Caroline also traveled with the international tour of The Sound of Music where she was in the Ensemble and understudied Liesl! She even got to spend a week performing as Liesl in Beijing, China. Now you can find Caroline auditioning in New York City, living the artist’s life! More below!
What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?
I love supplementing my income with events-work to connect with other creatives and New Yorkers. I love that every gig is different and I get a glimpse into so many different avenues for creativity.
When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!
I’m a Server at The Mermaid Inn!

Hiking the Great Wall of China while on tour with The Sound of Music!
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off from the Lane?
Spending time with friends, trying out a new restaurant, doing crafts and coloring.
What’s your hidden talent?!
Meeting my Goodreads reading goal!
If you could have your dream job tomorrow, what would it be?
Originating a role in a new musical.
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Yoga and meditation.
What life lesson did you learn the hard way?
I’ve worked lots of different jobs to find the right one to support my life as an actor!
What’s something you’ll miss from the winter season?
Hot Chocolate!
What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work as a Laner, should the chance ever arise?
I loved working with Laneige and other beauty brands and would always love to work with them again!
What inspires you most?
Staying as consistent and disciplined as I can, taking small steps every day to meet my goals.
