Our LANER OF THE WEEK is Nayeli Mendoza!

Matthew Borchers

Our Laner of the Week is Nayeli Mendoza, from Houston, Texas! A lover of volleyball and softball, you can find her playing both sports and spending time with her family. Nayeli is currently working to get admitted to the Radiology Program at a Community College in Houston. Meanwhile…she’s also working as a BA! Busy bee! More on Nayeli below!

What do you like about Mustard Lane or just working events in general?

I love that in the emails for job hirings, they are always so specific to what the duties are. Everyone in the BA world usually knows each other, and working with the same people makes it more exciting. I like that if I ever have a question about the event and/or payment related, they are always on point and have answers to everything. I like how they respond to the emails pretty fast.

When you’re not on the Lane…what are you doing?!

If I’m not on the Lane, I am working other events or studying for my medical program.

Favorite restaurant or food?

My favorite food has to be enchiladas and/or tacos del pastor.

Now you’ve been deemed Laner of the Week, what’s one of your goals for the remainder of 2025?

One of my goals for the rest of 2025 is to buy my first car from the dealership and to finally get a good score on my HESI Exam for the medical program. It would also be to make my parents proud, just like how I have done it til this day.

Any memorable travel destinations and/or stories?

My favorite travel experience was when I went to Paris and Rome. It was such an amazing experience and really beautiful. All of the structures and history is really inspiring.

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off from the Lane?

It would definitely be to spend the time with my family and friends. Also, to travel to new places, either food or adventure destinations.

Favorite concert-going experience…go!

I would have to say that it was the Fuerza Regida Private Event Show at The Post HTX. It was such an amazing experience because we met all of these influencers, plus got to enter the meet-and-greet for them!

What’s your hidden talent?!

I do not have a hidden talent. Well…that I know of…but I love cooking and I get along with people right away!

If you could have your dream job tomorrow, other than a Laner, what would it be?

It would be a Radiology Technician and a Realtor.

What’s an essential part of your daily routine?

I would say it would be to wake up early in the morning, so I can be productive since the start. After I get all of my morning routine done at home, I get started with my day.

What life lesson off the Lane did you learn the hard way?

I feel like it would be to not care about what other people say and just focus on yourself and making money the good way. As long we all have health and jobs, the world is fine.

It’s Fall! Looking forward to anything this season?

Definitely the Pumpkin Patch Festivals and little pop-ups. Also, the Halloween parties. Of course, to spend more time with my family and friends, and to travel.

Trick or Treat…chocolate or candy?!

Candy.

What’s a brand or event that you would love to represent or work for as a Laner should the chance ever arise?

I would like to work more events like concerts and meet-and-greets with influencers. Any type of work is really good and fun, if you make it fun. But, I feel like the only thing that I wouldn’t want to work would be events outside in the sun, especially during the summer. I would like to represent more makeup and clothing brands.

What inspires you most?

I look up to my parents and see the sacrifices they faced to get me where I’m at today.

Any advice for someone looking to get started as a Laner?

Just be patient; it takes time to get the hang of it. Keep it up and you are never too old to stop/start doing promo events. Whether the BA gigs are just a side-hustle or full-time job, it is a job and you will have to be patient.
